The numismatic collection

The numismatic collection mirrors the monetary circulation on the territory of present-day Moldova from antiquity to the present. The numismatist A. Nudelman contributed to the research and verification of treasures during the years 1945-1970. The most precious from the ancient period are the Greek treasures of silver drachmas of Istria and Tire from the village of Doroccaia and the golden statues of Alexander Macedon and Philip II of Larguţa from the 15th century. IV AD the Roman treasures of silver silica of Constanţii II Hlor from Budăi village, Orhei district and gold solids from Criuleni from sec. IV, silver denarii near Rotunda, Edinet district from sec. II.
