Zoo collection

The Zoo Collection consists of naturalized animals, skeletons, anatomical and corrosive preparations. The foundation of the collection was laid by Franţ Ostermann (1889-1905) by creating biological groups of birds and animals, which brought the museum's fame to the east and west in many countries. Franţ Ostermann created and preserved unique corrosive, anatomical, biological, embryological and physiological preparations, mentioned at many international exhibitions of those times. The value of the material accumulated by the museum lies both in the original technologies for their preparation and in the fact that they demonstrate the level of development of the natural sciences in the land.
